The whole MHS Class of 1931 is on the site. I have framed the Cromwell kids in red and those with a link to Cromwell in blue. If anyone recognizes someone who later moved to Cromwell (a parent or friend, whatever) from any class, let me know and I will frame them in blue also.

Larry Jezouit sent early basketball photo and a 1959 Commencement program which are both in the scrapbook section. He sent the basketball photo so that there would be a photo of Harry Polzun Trabold for the 1959 memorial section. I also added the 1959 basketball phototo the scrapbook page that has the schedual on it.

The whole MHS Class of 1904 is on the site. It is set up a little differently in that I have included the teachers and some yearbook ads at the end. 1904 was the first MHS yearbook and the next was not published until 1908.

There has not been any new content for the past few days, but in case you think we are taking a vacation, David and I have been cleaning up the site for easier navigation, fewer pages to wade through, and standardizing the size of the fonts, etc. We moved the yearbooks to the year index pages and got rid of the other page that really didn't have anything extra on it. Dick Nixon had originally mentioned this to me when he was proofing the site when it moved, But it took David to reiterate this before I finally saw the wisdom of it. There is still the page with all the yearbooks on it. The Memorial Index page has changed. There are navigational letters or years at the top of those pages instead of one table. A lot of the changes we have been making you would not likely notice as they are slight (and some not so slight) changes to the source code in order to standardize the pages.

I am working on MHS 1936. I'm not sure how far back we should really go with this, especially as the Cromwell kids are rarely identified. I am also working on some of the Vinal yearbooks. When I went to get more of the Xavier men, I found that they stopped putting addresses or even towns after the 1980 yearbook. There are also years that the Russell Library does not have They, for some reason, has absolutely no Mercy yearbooks, so I am going to have to find them elsewhere. They don't have too many of the earlier Vinal yearbooks either. If anybody has yearbooks they don't want, they can always be given to either The Russell or the Cromwell Belden Libraries. Miz' Owen (Music teacher, first at MHS and then for many years at CHS) gave her collection of yearbooks to the Cromwell Belden Library.

Marilyn Geer's ('63) sister Eileen sent me a couple of photos of Marilyn that I have put on an updated life page, and also her obituary which is linked to the 1963 Memory page.

The 1975 staff has been added and can also be found from the staff index. Now the staffs from all the years are on the site. If you look at the teachers site (Button to the left) you will notice a difference in look and when you go to either the alphabetical or year pages you can navigate to all the other pages easier.

I have put in the rest of the class of '58 in 7th grade and moved 2 photos out and into the 6th grade. They can be found in the1958 early years .

Once again, thanks to my brother David for his expertise in web design. If you have looked on the MHS pages where the whole class is present, you will see page numbers at the top and if you hold the mouse over the numbers you will see the range of names on that page. For an example you can see it here with the Class of 1946 .

I received a note from Pat Alsup, the Principal's secretary at Cromwell High School for the Class of 1959.

This year Cromwell High School will be graduating its 50th class. The Administration of CHS would like to invite the first graduating class (Class of 1959) to attend. Could something be put on the alumni website? I would be the contact person. We would like to know who is attending, so arrangements for seating and recognition can be made.

We do not have the actual date of graduation yet as it depends on snow days. As of TODAY it is June 19th. However, if we have any more snow days, we have to add a day for each one. The Board of Education will set the date at their April meeting.

After finding those first forgotten pictures, I started checking my old site files to see if there might be others. All I have found so far are three pages from 1960, 1961, and 1962. They are the underclass photos from the 1959 yearbook and I had made them into a page to put in the "Early Years" sections. If I remember correctly, it was a concious decision at the time not to put them on the web site. They are kind of grainy and space was limited. Now with more room, I feel that if nothing else, it allows people to see who was in the earlier classes and who may have left Cromwell before graduation.

I heard from Gil Santavenere '62 and he has been added to the mailroom.

Searching for photos that needed names, I discovered that I had 6th grade photos of the class of 1979 .

I also realized that some of the information on this page, such as Margaret Rose's note below, is of value to certain years and I am putting a "Class News" link on each of the home pages for the years so the information won't get lost as it slides down this page. It will only be clickable if there is news on the page.

To the Cromwell High classes of '59 and '60. When we were in 8th grade Mrs. Egan knew someone in Austria. They wanted pen pals. I did write to my pen pal on a regular basis. For a while I lost contact, but in 1985, after reconnecting had the chance to meet her and her husband in Austria and again a couple of years ago in Budapest. She and her husband are planning to visit us for a week in May. If anyone from the class of '59 or '60 (which was just the other day) wants to know about his or her pen pal, they can contact me with names and I will forward them to my pen pal friend to see what has happen in their lives

Thank you to my brother David Butler '70 and to Dick Nixon '60 for all the help getting this site over onto the new server. My brother did most of the work reassigning addresses to the links, first getting me the software to make it easier, and then actually doing quite a lot of the work inside the software himself. He also uploaded the more than 11,000 files that make up the site so far, which took about 5 hours. Dick did the proofing of the entire site to find the missing images and broken links and did it a lot quicker than I thought would be possible, then double checked again after I fixed what he found. And another thank you to my brother for adding the Search engine to the site. There are some pages where the names are part of the picture that I am going to have to change as a search is only looking at the text and won't find the names on those pages. I had some trouble with the "Mailroom," so if anyone has trouble with weird looking email addresses please let me know.
