Thomas W. Sheehan
1951 - 2013

Thomas W. Sheehan, 62, of Newington, passed into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, at his home with his loving wife Betty by his side. Born in Hartford to Gertrude (Chase) and the late James Sheehan, he grew up in Cromwell and moved to Newington in 1990. He was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation prior to his retirement and drove the 9-ton dumps.

Thom was very proud of his Harley and he loved to ride and travel the country together with his wife, Betty. They would always have adventures whether by car, plane or bus and visited zoos and animal sanctuaries around the country. He loved his cats and was a caring, generous man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

His wife and family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Timothy Hong, Marcia Carusa-Bergman and all the staff at the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital, as well as Wioletta and all of the wonderful folks at the VNA Hospice for all of the compassionate care given to him. Betty would also like to thank Mike Casanelli for being such a special friend to them both and for all of his support during this very difficult time and their friend Susie Button, who was always there.

In addition to his loving wife and best friend Betty (Kohnle); Thomas leaves his beloved daughter Carissa Michaud and her husband Rich of Plainville; his son Jonathan of Plainville; his siblings, Jane Sullivan and her husband Jim, James Sheehan and his wife Mary, Robert Sheehan, John Sheehan and his wife Evelyn, Joy Nailor and her husband Jerry and Holly Churchill; his brothers-in-law Ken and Craig Kohnle; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Donald Sheehan and his sister-in-law Carol Kohnle.
