Tom Smith

Bobbie and Tom at his 2007 installation as Chaplain at the Middletown ELKS # 771 lodge.

I graduated from Porter School of Engineering Design in 1966 and married Roberta (Bobbie) Wilk of Portland in 1970. I lived varous places around CT before marrying Bobbie and have been living back in Cromwell since 1974.

I've had a career in Machine Design, Optical Instrument Design & Tool design. I've been an EngineeringConsultant to Turbo products in Ivoryton CT, P&W CT, (various locations) Ford Motor Co. Catapillar, and Detroit Diesel in Canada. I'm not retired yet, still working as a Manufacturing Engineer for Marlin Firearms Co.in North Haven CT. I've been a competitive shooter since 1981, so getting up in the morning, and driving to Marlin is like going to my hobby!

I absolutely love early sat/sun mornings on my 2001 Harley SuperGlide, for breakfast runs with my friends, we cover approx 100-175 miles just for a breakfast ride !!..........usually home by 1:00 p.m.....to cut the grass!!!!! I like to go to local Cruise Nights with my ' 89 Supercharged 5.0 Mustang!...Lotta' car...Lotta' tricks!......its fun!..makes Bobbie nervous!

I've held the office of Chaplian for the Middletown Elks Lodge # 771 for the last 4 years.

I see retirement as something to address sometime down the road.........I need a purpose to get out of bed in the morning.....As long as I can have fun, and see that I contribute to building a quality rifle at Marlin, I think I'll keep getting up early!

I'd love to hear from any of my class mates, and/or school friends from Cromwell High School. (email is on the Mail page)
