Rachel Janicke
1987 - 2026

Rachel Janicke, 38, passed away unexpectedly, in her sleep, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in Independence, Kansas. Rachel was a 2005 graduate of Cromwell High School and lived in the Middletown area, prior to living in Colorado and Kansas.

Rachel is survived by her 3 children, Ava, Amelia and Clover; her mother, Eileen Janicke; her father, Kevin Janicke and his wife, Rosemary Malatesta; her sister, Melanie Lane, her husband, Joseph and their two sons, Andrew and Josh of Tomball, Texas; two aunts, Jeannine Sweet and Patricia Hill, both in CT; and several cousins. Rachel was predeceased by her beloved older brother, Brian Janicke, in 2014.

There will be a Memorial Mass on August 28th, at 7:30 AM at The Holy Apostles College and Seminary, 33 Prospect Hill Rd., Cromwell.
