Robert Haniewski, Jr
1953 - 2024
(Obituary not yet available. Notes from his cousin and classmate Ted Sekscenski) Bob Haniewski passed away earlier in October due to complications of several strokes he'd had over the last several years. Bob joined the Marine Corps upon graduating from Cromwell High and served two years in Thailand, Okinawa, and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. Following his honorable discharge from the Marines he attended Rhode Island College in Providence. After graduation he taught school in New Britain, CT and then moved to Florida where he worked for the City of West Palm Beach for several decades. He was a resident of Lake Worth, FL. Bob was the son of Edward and Helen Haniewski (née Sekscenski). He had an older brother Edward, Jr. who died two years ago in Meriden, CT. He leaves his younger brother David who lives in Lantana, FL
Bob's enjoyment of traveling began in high school. He was a foreign exchange student in El Salvador the summer before his senior year. His family also hosted an exchange student from Central America in 1970. I later remember getting letters and postcards from Bob when he went to Japan, Sweden, and other places.
