Helen Mae Schukoske, a nurse who served in the Cromwell school system for many years, died Saturday. She was 88.

Born in Newport, Pa., she lived most of her life in Cromwell. She was also a 4-H Club leader in the town.

Besides her husband, John, she leaves a son, John W. Schukoske of Cromwell; two daughters, Mary Lewis of Cromwell, and Janice Ceplenski of East Hampton; four brothers, Lawrence, William and Carl Trout, all in Pennsylvania, and Robert Trout of Maryland; three sisters, Harriet Walker and Ruth Mood, both of Pennsylvania, and Betty Neeley of California; and seven grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be Tuesday at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
