Charles Frederick Huffstetler, 64, of Haddam View Heights, Haddam, husband of Ann (Petrofsky) Huffstetler, died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 1998) at Middlesex Hospital.
He was born in Gastonia, NC, son of the late George and Elizabeth (Smith) Huffstetler. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Navy Submarine Service.
Charles graduated from East Carolina College and moved to Connecticut, where he began teaching at Cromwell High School in 1960 as a social studies teacher. During his tenure, he taught courses in World Civilization, Ancient and Modern History and Humanities. He served as Social Studies Dept. Chairman for many years.
In 1972, he took a sabbatical from Cromwell and moved his family to Australia, where he taught for one year at North Albury High School.
