Caryl F. Hagel



Caryl F. Hagel, 76, wife of Harry Hagel, of Evergreen Road, Cromwell, died at Middlesex Hospital, Sunday, July 30, 2006. She was born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Clarence S. and Evelyn (Walker) Fenn.

Mrs. Hagel lived in Cromwell for 53 years and was a member of the First Congregational Church. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BS degree and taught at the Edna C. Stevens Elementary School for 25 years. She was a member of the Cromwell Women’s League and the American Legion Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, John Hagel and his wife, Deborah, of Cromwell and Thomas Hagel and his wife, MaryAnn, of Fairfield, two daughters, Lynn Talmont and her husband, Neil, and Nancy Reiman and her husband, Paul, of Cromwell, one sister, Ruth Kremer of Corona, CA. She had ten grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, John, Ashley, Christina, Steven, Daniel, Kristen, Jordan and Nicole, and one great grandchild, Tyler.

The funeral service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 355 Main St., Cromwell, Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. The Rev. Douglas G. J. VanVeldhuisen will officiate. Interment will be at West Cemetery, Cromwell. Friends may call at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St., Cromwell, Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
