SACO - Evelyn Gustafson Billingham, formerly of Cromwell, Conn., passed away Mon. August 16, 2004, at her home in Saco, Maine, after a brief illness.
She was born in 1913 in Middletown, Conn., a daughter of Axel and Hannah Gustafson.
She graduated from Middletown High School and was employed by the Covenant Children's home, the Connecticut light and Power Company and retired after 30 years from the Cromwell School System. Most recently she had worked as the Administrative Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools.
During her retirement she enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles and she was instrumental in founding the Baron Group, INC of Saco.
She was predeceased in 1970 by her husband, Russell P. Billingham. She is also predeceased by her sister Astrid M. Bundy and brothers Einar A.V. Gustafson and Karl V. Gustafson.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Joel Bizon, and by nieces Lori Salonia, Wendy Sobczak, Susan Golet, Joan Tester, nephews Bruce Gustafson, James Gustafson and their spouses and children.
