  • Pulp Fiction (yes, it's violent, but great characters and compelling storytelling)
  • To Kill A Mockingbird (Gregory Peck at his peak; Robert Duvall's first movie!)
  • Rear Window (The original by Hitchcock, with Jimmy Stewart and Raymond Burr)
  • Smoke (Harvey Keitel, William Hurt, Forrest Whitaker, need I say more?)
  • The Graduate (One word, "Plastics!")

  • A Hard Day's Night - Best music film. Ever. Period.
  • The Absent Minded Professor - a cheesy Disney film yes but I love it. Flubber lives!
  • It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World - Tracy Rooney Berle Winters Silvers Merman and more. Hilarious movie.
  • It's a Wonderful Life - I liked it long before it became over-played on TV in the 80s.
  • The Maltese Falcon - slightly edges out Casablanca as favorite Bogart film for me.
  • Raiders of the Lost Ark - Took everyone by surprise when it came out. Indy rocks.
  • The Russians Are Coming - "Emergency, everybody to get from street." "Nawmin, they're open'n up the baah!".
  • Star Wars - actually all three of the original Lucas films belong here.
  • To Kill A Mockingbird - powerful stuff.

  • The 39 Steps- Hitchcock's seminal "innocent man on the run" film
  • The Big Lebowski- most movies have 2 or 3 classic lines, this Coen Bros. comedy has 50, maybe more
  • The Usual Suspects; Chinatown; LA Confidential- "yes, they're violent, but great characters and compelling storytelling"- used by permission
  • American Graffiti; Peggy Sue Got Married- candy corn: never ages, always sweet
  • 3 Days of the Condor; Jeremiah Johnson- Robert Redford at his best - no charm, no smiles
  • Joe Versus the Volcano +Big+Philadelphia+Saving Private Ryan. talk about a brilliant actor...
  • The Ghost and Mr. Chicken- incomparable Don Knotts proves physical comedy is more than pratfalls and eye pokes

  • The Wedding Singer- Adam Sandler: Drew Barrymore
  • My Cousin Vinny- Joe Pesci; great movie
  • Sweet Dreams- Jessica Lange; life story of Patsy Cline
  • Carlito's Way- Sean Penn; Al Pacino: great performances by both; very under-rated movie
  • Goodfellas - Robert Deniro; very explicit language; one of the best pictures ever (my opinion)
  • Dirty Dozen- Lee Marvin; a classic film
  • Cool Hand Luke Paul Newman: at his best
  • The Last Picture Show- Cloris Leachman; Cybill Shepard, Oscar Award
  • The Shield - Michael Chiklis; My favorite of all. This is into its 7th and last season on FX. You must see fromthe beginning -
