In 1976 the classes of 1983 to 1988 at Edna Stevens School were invited to add items to a bicentennial time capsule. It was buried by the flag pole and retrieved during renovations several years ago. It sat in a closet just inside the front door for years. It was decided that being the 50th anniversary of its burial the box would be opened. Plans are underway for what should become of the contents. Based on the contents of the box it appears that the box may have been buried later that year or in 1977.
