Debra Marie (LaPila) Basiel
1957 - 2007

Debra Marie ( LaPila) Basiel, 50, of Stowe Ave., Middletown, wife of Ronald J. Basiel, died Sunday, (November 25, 2007) at Middlesex Hospital following a brief illness. She was born May 24, 1957, in Middletown, daughter of Anthony and Claire (Bonafonte) LaPila of Cromwell. She was a member of St. Pius X Church. She had attended Cromwell schools and was a Graduate of Cromwell High School.

Debra was employed by the State of Connecticut Dept. of Mental Retardation as a Program Supervisor and was a dedicated and kind Health Care Provider who truly loved her clients and they responded with true happiness and affection.

Besides her husband and parents of Cromwell, she is survived by two daughters, Abigail and Rebecca Basiel of Middletown; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter and Rosean LaPila of Rocky Hill, Michael and Michele LaPila of Moodus and Jay and Shannon LaPila of Portland; her nephews, Alex, Luke, Kyle, Matthew, Ryan; and nieces, Abigail and Rebecca. She is predeceased by a nephew Shane.

Funeral Services will be held Friday morning at 9 a.m. from the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., Middletown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church. Burial will be in the family plot in St,. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, from 5-8 p.m.
