John Raymond Carlson, Jr.

John Raymond Carlson, Jr., 60, of Colchester, passed away on Saturday, September 25th surrounded by his family at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late John Raymond and Beverly (Niles) Carlson.
John lived in Colchester for thirty-three years, was employed by Océ North America for thirty-two years, and was a great outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, skiing, hunting and race car driving.
He is survived by his brother, Garry N. Carlson of Florida; his sister, Sandra L. Rich and her husband, Robert of Cromwell; a nephew, Jeffrey Carlson; a niece, Debra Gidman and her husband, Ben; a grand nephew and niece whom John absolutely adored, Aaron and Sidney Gidman, all of Cromwell.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 1st at 10:00am in the State Veterans' Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown with the Rev Scott B. Jones officiating.
There will be no calling hours and in lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in John's memory to the American Lung Association of CT, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
