Mary Ann Samolyk

I initially went for my LPN at Middlesex Hospital, then left Cromwell for Miami in ('70) and went to Miami Dade Community College and worked at Jackson Memorial Hospital in ICU affiliated with University of Miami. I also worked at several other private hospitals in the 26 years I lived in Miami. I moved from Miami to Sarasota in ('96) and finished my BS in Nursing up in Tampa .

Here in Sarasota, I worked as a nurse case manager in an insurance company monitoring workers' compensation claims and now I'm back in the hospital setting as a case manager at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

There's so many avenues in nursing to choose. I also became interested in Interior Design and got a second degree in college but decided to stay in nursing since that was my true passion.

I do think of myself as a Floridian now because I've lived here for the past 39 years, in spite of it's hot humid weather, it's really a great place to live.
