SCARPINI, Frank J. Jr. 60,

of Cherry Swamp Rd., Moodus, died Thursday (January 31, 2008), at Middlesex Hospital.

Frank was a beloved husband of 30 years to Dorothy (Schuttinger) Scarpini. Raised in Cromwell he was the son of the late Frank J. Scarpini Sr. and Johanna (Kabara) Scarpini. He graduated from Cromwell High School Class of 1965, served in the United States Army from 1966 - 1968, and then continued his education at Hartford State Tech. He had retired from the State of Connecticut where he had been a Surveyor for 34 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children and a son-in-law; Dawn (Scarpini) Sullivan and her husband, Brendan, of South Berwick, ME; Jill Scarpini of Moodus; and John Scarpini of Moodus. He is also survived by his sister, Maryann Scarpini of Cromwell.

Frank was an avid fisherman who loved to spend his vacations with his family in Racquette Lake, NY. He was an auto enthusiast and a lifelong fan of UCONN Basketball and NASCAR. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who loved him dearly.

A funeral procession will leave the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St., East Hampton, on Tuesday February 5 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Bridget of Kildare Church in Moodus. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Bridget Cemetery in Moodus. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home on Monday evening February 4 from 5 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Amyloidosis Research Fund.
