Brad Bergere

John, Brad & Douglas in 1975

After graduation, Brad joined the Navy, stationed aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42) until honorably discharged in 1964. He moved to Bridgeport, CT, where he worked as an Insurance Adjuster and a mechanic, but spending all of his free time building race cars and racing Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). He raced MGs with his team, the "Nice Guys" (they even changed the "MG" logos on the race cars to "NG".

He later met Jean Boan of Newtown, CT (who is now Jean Gibson of Texas) and married in 1968.

In 1969, their first son Douglas was born.

In 1971, the three Bergeres packed-up and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. In 1973, their second son John was born.

Brad was very involved in Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts with his two boys over the years and very much enjoyed camping, canoeing and just about any other outdoor activity.

Brad and Jean divorced in 1984 and he remained in Florida until his death in 1990. He passed away from complications with juvenile diabetes in Tampa, Florida. His Memorial is in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Doug Bergere currently resides in Texas, with his wife, daughter and son. He works in Arlington as a software developer and, like his father, is active in Boy Scouts with his son.

John Bergere currently resides in Texas, with his wife and daughter (and another baby on the way). He works in Dallas as a technology support manager for a hedge fund. While not involved in Boy Scouts, he does enjoy the outdoors more than the indoors, including camping, just like his father. AND has more than a passing resemblace to his Dad. Below are their high school graduation photos.
