Elaine "Shortie" Shea (Swift) 81, of Vernon, formally Windsor Locks passed away on Thursday March 12, 2020. Born July 16 1938, in Hartford the daughter of Joseph and Marion Ritchie Swift. Elaine graduated Middletown High School in 1957. Though she did not attend college she often said "I majored in Common Sense".
Elaine was married to Robert V. Shea for 30 years. She worked as a driver for Granger Bus Service, Dial-a-Ride Services as well as a truck driver for Air Freight Services and ran a home day care. Elaine enjoyed quilting and sewing. She particularly loved the annual camping trip with her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her four siblings, Patricia Marseglia, Marion Franklin, Joseph Swift Jr, and Rosemary Landmesser.
Elaine is survived by her children, Robert V Shea Jr and wife Andrea of Del Rio, TN, Linda Champagne and husband Dave Weyman of Somers, Suzanne Toohey and husband Jay of Enfield, William Shea and wife Vanise of Windsor Locks, Colleen Ceballos and husband Fernando of Enfield and Kathleen Marth of Vernon. She also leaves 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family The family would like to thank Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice Care as well the Hartford Hospital staff of CB3.
