Marilyn Passamano Dillon
1939 - 2018

Marilyn (Passamano) Dillon, born on November 29, 1939 passed away at the age 78 on May 7, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Marilyn was the daughter of Joseph and Minnie Passamano and grew up in Cromwell. She was a graduate of Middletown High School and the Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing. She spent her entire 30-year career on the nursing staff at Rocky Hill Veterans Home and Hospital. She was well known as an energetic and comforting nurse providing the best possible care to veterans on both long and short term stays at the hospital.

She is survived by her three sons, John H. Dillon, Jr. and his wife Meri of Portland, Brian Dillon and his wife Kimberly of Rocky Hill and Aaron Dillon of Cromwell. She also is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Mary Ellen Passamano from Middletown. Marilyn also leaves behind her three beloved grandchildren Bethany, Madison and Gavin, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn's greatest pride and joy was her family. Through her years, she was a well-known volunteer supporting the various clubs and organizations that her children participated such as Cromwell Little League, St. John's CYO Basketball and the HS Basketball Booster Club. Through her years, she could always be found at the game watching her sons and over the past few years, she especially enjoyed watching her grandkids; Bethany play basketball, Maddy play softball and Gavin at challenger baseball games. She also loved to be around her extended family, enjoyed gardening and staying connected to friends both near and far; especially her frequents travels to her second home in Punta Gorda, FL.

Life threw many challenges at her in recent years, yet she remained optimistic, and upbeat through it all. Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and family that will live on in our memories and hearts forever. Services will include calling hours at the Rose Hill Funeral Home in Rocky Hill on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with Funeral services at 11:30 a.m. and burial directly afterwards; all at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
