SHEA, Charles F. Jr., 73, Of Clinton, passed away Sunday (February 1, 2009) at CT Hospice in Branford after a courageous two year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Ennis) Shea. He was born in New York, N.Y. on September 19, 1935. Son of the late Charles F. and Mary (Heslin) Shea. Charles began his banking career in Hartford at CBT. Then moving to Clinton working as a teller at Clinton National Bank. Moving up through the ranks he retired has Vice President of the Bank. After 35 years of banking Charles worked for Lively Real Estate, Coldwell Banker and Prudential. He also belonged to the Lions, Rotary and Elks Clubs, along with Clinton Country Club and St George Church. He was a true family man, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed. Besides his wife of 52 years, he is survived by a son David W. Shea and his wife Deborah of Salt Lake City Utah and a daughter Mary S. Gilbert and her husband Wayne of Clinton. He is also survived by two brothers Robert V. Shea and his wife Ida of Winsor Locks, and John C. Shea of Cromwell, and three grandchildren Jason and Spencer Gilbert and Aidan Shea. Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St. Clinton Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. George in Guilford.
