Maureen F. Nixon, 90, of Cromwell died January 15th, 2006 at Haven Health Care Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Nixon was born November 9, 1915 in Warehouse Point, CT to Charles R. and Elizabeth (Thompson) Finley. She was married for 62 years to Clarence J. Nixon who died in March 2001. She lived in Cromwell almost all of her life and was a member of the First Congregational Church.
Mrs. Nixon was a graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1933 and Cambridge Secretarial School. She worked as a legal secretary until her marriage.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Nancy (Bruce) Nixon of Amherst NH, a granddaughter Diana Nixon Fischer and her husband James of Denville, NJ, and a great-grandson Karl Cooper Fischer of Denville NJ. She was predeceased by her only sibling, Eileen Finley Shea, who died in 1981.
Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Congregational Church, Main Street, Cromwell.
